After the Forest

On this day April 15, 2034 President Caleb Savage swaggers the 3rd announced that the manned mission to Mars has finally landed on the Planet. There are 35 people up on the ship. The first thing they plan to do is to get to building shelter for the whole crew. The person who will be in charge of the building will be Leroy Jenkins. In order to protect the crew Sargent Gavyn Roasts alot the 4th and his team Wilhelm Mario, Luigi Mario, Ethan Hopner Lucas Song and me. We are called the Reapers! The most dangerous Team in the country.

I was 14 when I knew I wanted to join the Marines because I was in Canada to go to a hockey game and when entering Canada our Bus was attacked by Russia and during escape two marines helped most of my friends and I. We lost two of them that week in the forest they were Jaedan and Michael they were my best friends after that week the rest of us were on T.V. and the news for almost 4 months.

Gavyn and I wanted to join the military after high school but we waited till after college  so if we didn't make it. I went to college and I was studying Earth science and space travel in Iowa University. Gavyn went to Oregon for college he went out for football and was a running back and a Middle linebacker he was really good but after college we still wanted to join the military So we went to training and we graduated from that and we joined the Reapers at first we were just part of the jarheads. Delivering Supplies to outposts in the desert. But one day our convoy was ambushed. The humvee in front was hit with a IED and flew in the air Gavyn and I jumped out and took cover behind some rocks Stan was in the second humvee on the mounted gun the truck turned around and raced back to base to save the supplies so it was Gavyn, Stan, Jake, John and I. The first thing We did was take cover Stan was on the gun and Jake was heading to see if Ethan and Carl were still alive.

Jake couldn't get the door open so Gavyn ran over there and helped get the door off. As that was happening I was taking cover and putting cover fire for Gavyn and Jake. Stan was getting out of the humvee when it was hit with an RPG. I ran over there to see if he was ok. I shouted for John he ran over and carried Stan to safety. Gavyn got the door open and he grabbed Ethan then when Jake was getting Carl out he was shot in the leg.

Carl slowly crawled out of the humvee and to cover he was pretty messed up Jake sat up beside the humvee. I ran to go get him when they shot and RPG at the humvee I was thrown back then blacked out. I woke up in a hospital and Stan was in a bed beside me. That’s all I see before I black out again. When I wake up again Stan is gone and I am the only person in the room. I push a button and a nurse came in and I asked where was I. She said I was in a hospital and that I had a few visitors when I was asleep. It was from stan and he left a Poem called A brave soldier.

I lay in a pool of blood,

Waiting for that white light to come.

It is dark and cold,

But still I wait here for death to come .

I hear guns fire,

And bombs go boom.

But then I felt  you Grab me,

you picked me up and took me to safety.

That's when that light came,

When a dear friend carried me to a rocky mountain

Almost there but then I hear a clear,

And sit right up and Walk into battle again.

It was a nice thing for him to do that I just wish I could thank him myself. So we're on are way to base camp again when I see smoke in the area of the camp. The camp was under attack and on fire. Men driving turn around and drove off, back to base I knew we would not make it so I told them to turn around and head back to camp and that we wouldn’t make it back to camp we would run out of gas. So we turned around and headed into the soup of it when we pulled in. The passenger was calling in Backup as The driver and I went in we went in the front gate and ran to the guards post when in there a man was shot we moved past to the mess hall and there was a five guys in there they had Gavyn, and Lucas and someone not from my team.

We hold there and then I was told to go left and he would go right I grab the man closet to where the should have been, the door was blown clear to the other side of the room. I then knocked him out and took his gun at the same time the guys saw me and went started talking about where the armory is and when the driver grabbed the guy closest to him and grabbed his gun I opened fired. So did the driver I hit the guy right in the chest and so did the driver but the third guy must have saw us before we fired because grabbed Lucas and held a gun to his head, we didn't want him to grab his radio so we ran to the front of the table. Gavyn and the other guy that I have never seen grab guns and holds them up to the attackers he was shouting at us in some weird language. He started to get really jumpy when I said we won't hurt you if he let our friend go he almost pulled the trigger.  He starts yelling again and then he said in Eglash that we will not get him alive and he pushed Lucas at us and I jump to grab him but then I hear gun shots.

Survival of the Fittest Part 3 of 4

I wake up I see my friends on the ground and the soldiers that stopped were running around yelling and shooting their guns up at the trees I was confused so I just laid there and covered my ears I was there almost and hour when I heard the shooting stopped. I saw that gavyn was awake too. We crawled over the glass to our other friends who were still knocked out. Then we heard footsteps coming from the trees behind them so we crawled to a tree and waited to see what the noise was. it was a man with a gun he looked american but we could not tell until he ran over to the other american who were dead. so we stumbled over to our friends. The soldier heard us and whipped around with his gun aimed at us we stopped then kneed down to make sure our friends were ok. the man then ran over to us and helped pick up our friends and put them beside a wall of sandbags where there were gunshots going through them. Sand is still falling out of the bags because of the battle that had happened. Gavyn and I are still really weak form being thrown out of the bus. So we laid down next to our friends and we tried to stay awake but we are to weak and we start to drift into a sleep. When we woke up again jeadan was looking confused like he didnt know were he was, I remember every that happen. After an hour michael and marshall woke up and when that happened only Jarret was knocked out. The military private was talking to Gavyn and I he said his name was Freddy Jones. Freddy said that he and 2 other guys ran into the woods after the russians. When they ran away Freddy came back to check on the other men. Just before we went to check on Jeadan we heard shooting. Freddy jumped up and said I NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!! He threw us a handgun. Gavyn and I looked at each other not knowing what to do. He asked if we have ever shot a gun. Gavyn had shot a pellet gun before but it did not end so well. I said I had shot an AR-15 before. Fredddy thought that was good so he picked up a gun off the ground and said it was a M4 Carbine Rifle. Freddy then handed gavyn a Lebedev PL-14 pistol. he gave Jeadan a mini moose. Then Freddy ran into the woods after his friends. we followed him, freddy was really fast so we started to walk. I think Gavyn  could tell I was worried so he started to talk. It made me less worried. we started to run again when we heard more shooting. we saw some buildings so we went to hide in there. that's when we saw a dead guy in there. he must have died a little bit ago since his gun was still smoking. we moved forward until we saw Freddy. he told us to take cover by the wall. he said that the russians were heading this way. I moved to the side of where they would be running though. gavyn aims his gun at the door where they will be coming from. I sat behind the wall waiting for the first gun shot to be fired. freddy ran over to me to make sure I was ready. I told him i was ready but not really knowing what I was saying. he said we would be the two youngest people fighting for our country. I thought that was pretty cool but before I could say that gavyn was shooting like a madman. freddy looked up to see what had happen. gavyn killed a guy. freddy had started shooting. so I ran over to gavyn to see if he was ok. he was fine just confused on how to reload.  I did it for him. when I did he got up and started shooting at the door again. I got up and started shooting too. in about 10 minutes freddy jumped over his cover and went to the wall. when he did that jeadan came sprinting into the open. freddy looked over his shoulder and a guy shot at Jaedan.  he was shot in the arm. jaedan was blown back onto the ground. freddy pulled out his 45 Gov't m1911 and shot the guy in the head. jaedan was groaning as we ran over to him. as freddy cleared the building we heard a few more shots so we carried jaedan over to a building with only the front and right side walls. we put Jaedan down, he was bleeding super bad. I felt like throwing up but instead I ran to go help Freddy. We left gavyn to help with the blood. When I got into the building I looked around for freddy. When he popped around the corner he hit me in the face with his gun. I was knocked out. When I came to michael had a gun and was walking around with it. Freddy was next to me waiting for me to wake up. I got up slowly and grabbed the canteen that he had. When I was done drinking I got up and walked over to my gun and grabbed it not even knowing what I was doing. I Then walked over to Jeadan to see if he was still ok he they had wrapped his hole left side of his body in bandages. All of a sudden a big explosion happen in the trees where jaedan was shot. We heard people coming out of the forest freddy told us to run into the trees behind us and get far away from this place and to run to the military base 40 miles from here. We grab what we need then rush into the woods. We get maybe run 2 miles before we stop to rest. Then we walk in a few miles we walked maybe 7 to 8 miles then it is dark we camped there for the night then In the morning we get a map out and see how far we had to go. We thought 35 to 40 miles to go we start walking and within a hour Jeadan fell to the ground. We ran over to him he was losing blood Marshall grabbed to First aid box we had and wrapped his shoulder the best we could. Then started walking again gavyn said he would carry him a few miles when we stopped to rest we wrapped him again when we were almost done Marshall said he saw something moving this way from the woods we jumped to the ground gavyn had his gun ready like he's done this before or something. It was a man we thought it was Freddy so we walked up to him asking what took him so long it The man spun around and tried to hit us Michael and Gavyn jumped on him and he hit his head on a rock. They got up and walked over to our group we thought that we had to bring him with us. We couldn’t just leave him here to die so we dragged him with us to the military base where Freddy told us to be after we found that man we wondered how Freddy was doing AS we talked I got worried that he could have died trying to save us.

Survival of the fittest (Part 2 of 4)

It was a bright winter day and we were on our way to Canada. Gavyn, Jarrett, Marshall, Jeadan, Michael, and I.  It was because we won a basketball tournament, and we were on are way to Canada for the tour of their hockey team. It was a long trip.  A few days before it was time to go, the news said Alaska was attacked by Russians and that they were on their way to attack Canada.  Jarrett said that the Canadian army would push them far from the hockey arena where we will play some famous hockey players who will teach us how to play the game of Hockey. Then maybe we will go back and teach some of our friends how to play the game of hockey.  On the way up there, we saw a bunch of American humvees with big guns on top heading towards Canada.  We thought they were just going to a different military base so we calmed down and played some basketball on the bus with a little hoop that Gavin's mom got him for the trip. When he pulled it out everyone must of had the same idea because we started to play a mini game of basketball.  It was Michael and Jarrett vs Marshall and Gavyn.

I was sitting out the first round but it was me vs Jaedan in the second round.  I won it.  I bragged about it the whole way to Minnesota it was fun but then Jaedan freaked out and tried to attack people on the bus.  It was funny especially when Michael threw him over a seat because Jaedan was sitting on him and I, because Michael was fed up with and decided to throw him over the seat. The bus driver told Jaedan to go up to the front.  We all laughed and played some more basketball because we got bored.

When we got to Minneapolis we stopped for the night.  I went to my great uncles where we got to target shoot with him.  I played halo with my cousin.  We played online against each other.  I was pretty good but she was better than me.  In the morning the bus came and got me and I went to the next rest place in north dakota because the bus driver was told us that was the next place where we would meet the next hockey professional and we would get to meet him before we got to the Arena.  We did not know which hockey player we were going to pick up in North Dakota.  We wondered if this was his first time going to Canada because a few players were from the USA.

As we drove to North Dakota to pick up the player whose name we still did not know, we stopped almost 5 or 6 times because the bus was almost out of gas and we needed a to go to the bathroom.  we bought some movies to watch on our computers.  It was fun until michael decided to get the little basketball and throw at everyone.  It was a little fun because we played a weird game of  dodgeball.  It was really cool until a ball almost hit the bus driver then we stopped playing.  I liked the part when Michael got Jaedan right in the face.  It was really funny.  Jaedan would not talk to anyone for a little bit after that. When we stopped at our next stop we grab lunch of pizza.  We were on the road for about an hour before we got to North Dakota.  We stopped at a gas station and heard that the army was holding Russia in Alaska but has not pushed them back yet.

“That is good” said Jarrett

“yeah” I said

“I hope the hockey player is still going to teach us hockey” Marshall replied.

I think Marshall is worried about the whole invasion on Alaska I said to Michael he just needs to think about something else besides the invasion of Alaska.

“yeah” michael agreed

“hey let’s go explore the forest behind the gas station” I said  

“Ok” agreed everyone

“well I dont know if we should” said Marshall

“ I think we should” said Jaedan

everyone has to agree” michael exclaimed

“ok” I said

“ well let’s take a vote” said Gavyn.

“fine” said jeadan

who thinks we should go into the forest in the back of the gas station say I protested Jaedan

3 people voted yes and 3 voted no

well this is impossible exclaimed Jaedan  

“time to get back on the bus” said Frank the bus driver

As we were driving to the player's house we were stopped by police asking where we where heading and as the police said we could go the military zoomed past us in a blur.  We drove to the Canadian border the military then stopped us asked us where we were going.  Frank said to the hockey stadium.  As he said that a big explosion happened in the front of the bus.  I blacked out as I heard people yelling and shooting guns.

Survival of the fittest Part 1

One Friday morning, Gavyn, Jarrett, Marshall and I we were going to take a field trip to the Canadian wilderness. At that time we didn't know we would have to join the army and fight with our Canadian brothers in the north. That was a big shock to all of us. Although before I can tell you about that, I should tell you why we were there to begin with. It was a warm summer day and we all had gone to Casey's to get a breakfast pizza. We were talking having a good time but Jarrett, as always complained and asked to go to subway. We always take a vote and Casey's almost always wins. all of a sudden someone yelled put on channel 6 news and they did. the reporter said that Alaska has been invaded by russians. At the moment we did not understand, ran out the door dropping our pizzas on the ground and sprinted  to Gavyn's house to see what his parents knew. When we got there his mom was at work so we quickly turned on the news . Turns out, we didn't miss a whole lot.  it looked like they snuck in by boat and took them by surprise. Jarrett said “oh man and we were looking forward to that trip to canada next week!”  Gavyn said that there is no way we are going to let them do that, america will push them back before wednesday. We then went to river when we got there we saw a fisherman slowly reel in his bait. We walk on the bridge and threw rocks in the river to see who could make the biggest splash. We got bored and went to the far part of the avoca park we like to hang out there because it is far from everything else. Every now and then a runner comes bye.

We wave hi and that is the end of it. Today we all talked about how we were going to make the money to go on the trip gayvn said he could help his grandpa with all his stuff around the house. Jarrett said he gets money for his birthday and that was in a few days I think we all forgot all about his birthday because we all said happy birthday to him at the same time. After that we marshall had to go home. Then Gayvn Jarret and I went to gayvns house and played advanced warfare the rest of the day until I had to go home. it was a long ride to my house. I don’t live far but when your with my family it a long trip wherever you go. My mom was yelling at my sister to give her phone back. Tyler and matt my step dad were fighting on why he could not go to the shop with him and i just sat there and looked out the window. When we got home it was about 7:30 but I was tired so I went to my room and read my book for about an hour then dozed off to sleep. when I woke up my mom was buzzing try to wake my brother up. He like to sleepin late till about 8 or 9 in the morning. Finally he woke up and he ate some breakfast I was almost ready for the day when I realized. I forgot to charge my computer to go to gavin's house that night. I pluged it in and went to work outside when Matt said that out was going to rain so we just sat inside and watched movies all day until it was time to go to gavin's house in avoca.  When I got there it was still raining but gavyn was outside with his brothers playing basketball when I got out the car gavyn ran over and told me to come play us in 2 on 3. Gavyn,and I vs Cole and  Hayden  we played till Jarrett and Marshall got there then we went to the park and waited for an idea for how to raise the money to have trip to canada. at that point we had nothing on our mind. but how we were going to raise the money to go on that trip to canada. we all looked around for something to give us an Idea. but we had no luck so we went across the road to play basketball  

it was Jarrett and Me vs. Gavyn and Marshall it was a pretty good game jarret and I won 21 to 16. We had to stop there because marshall had to go home that is when I had the Idea to have  basketball games 3 vs 3 and see who was the best and it would cost 3 dollars a player. Whatever team wins get to come to canada with us.  this is for whoever wants to play against us, we will all go out and make a team gavyn said that we should do this a week from the trip to canada so they have time to pack for the trip. we were so ready to play we forgot that marshall left and that we would have to fill him in so he had some time to pick a team. Jarrett said he would snap chat him tonight so we did not have to do it tomorrow.

The next day gavyn already had a team picked out he had Lucas, and Caleb. Jarret had one person he was picking Ethan, he was thinking about picking jeaden but was not sure. I was picking Brock but I didn't have a second person to be on my team. Marshall pick Joey, and Kyler.

I think I will pick brody for my team but I am not so sure If I should because he is always shooting 3s when he can go for the lay up. I think I will pick Michael for my team If he wants to play. He might as long as he gets to go to canada with us even if we lose but I think we will win because I have a pretty good team so yeah. We would be be taking a bus to get there so it will be almost a 2 day trip so we would have to leave by wednesday. I think it will be a fun ride to canada we can talk and play mini basketball If we bring one. I think we should do winners vs everyone else who didn’t win but that is if we bring a mini basketball hoop that you put on your door. If know one has one then they only like 10 dollars.

My mom could get it for us so we can have fun on the way to the bus. as long as I promise not to be moving to much on the bus because might distract the driver and get in a wreck. Although that will not happen because we told him to worry about what we do because it might get loud. But then again it just depends.
