Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift
Taylor Alison Swift, the daughter of Andrea and Scott Kingsley Swift, was born on December 13, 1989, in Reading, Pennsylvania. She was raised on a Christmas Tree farm near Wyomissing. Taylor looked up to her grandmother, whom was an opera singer, and wanted to follow in her footsteps.  By the time she was ten, she had sang in a variety of local contests. For example, at county fairs or different contest. At the age of eleven, she sang the National Anthem at a Philadelphia 76ers game. Taylor soon started writing her own song lyrics.
Taylor often visited Nashville, Tennessee, the capitol of country music, and was a co writer. While she was co writing, she was trying to get a recording contract. Taylor convinced her family to move to Tennessee in attempt to further her career. Because of her amazing performance at The Bluebird Cafe, she got a contract with Scott Borchetta. The record label was called “Big Machine Records.”
Taylor’s first single, “Tim Mcgraw”, was released in 2006. Shortly after it was the top ten country billboard.  Taylor's album sold 2.5 million copies. A couple of other songs that were in the album were “Our Song,” and “Teardrops on my Guitar.” She had other tracks that were very successful tracks.
Taylor won the Horizon Award at the Country Music Award. The award she received was Top New Female Vocalist of 2007. Taylor released an album called The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection, which consisted of “Silent Night” and “Santa Baby” which helped with her record label.
About a year later, Taylor released an album called “Fearless.” This was a huge hit all over the world.  For about eleven weeks it was the top of the country and pop charts. At the end of the year of 2008, Taylor had the highest-selling album of the year.  In the same year Taylor was nominated the Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards.
The album “Fearless” got Taylor many awards like Video of the Year, and Female Video of the Year in 2009.  Taylor’s song “Love Story” was a huge hit that helped over all. Taylor was handed Best Female Video at the MTV Music Awards. As she was on stage, Kanye West came up and took the microphone. He declared that Beyonce should have gotten this award. Taylor didn’t know how to react and didn’t know what to say after that. Beyonce then got Best Video of the Year and called Taylor up, she also apologized alone after the show.
During 2009 she dated Taylor Lautner. They lasted for three months, they lost interest when Taylor Swift was less into the “Fling” then Taylor Lautner. They met on the set of Valentine's Day. They played roles as two stupidly in love teens on Valentine's day. After they ended she soon started dating John Mayer. I would tell you about that relationship, but the age difference of 19 to 31 is disgusting.
After this, Taylor became huge all over the world. Her concert tickets started selling out in no longer than two minutes.  She was on Saturday Night Live many times. In 2010, she was the youngest artist to receive a Grammy award for Album of the Year for her album “Fearless.”  Meanwhile she was writing songs for her next album.
“Mean,” “Sparks Fly,” and “Ours” were big hits of Taylor’s next album Speak Now in 2010.  Within the first week, more than one million copies were sold. Following this album, two years later Taylor released another album called Red. A couple of huge hits on this album consist of “We Are Never Getting Back Together” and “Begin Again.”  Red also sold over a million copies within the first week. 1998, Taylor’s fifth album, was released in 2014. This makes Taylor the first woman in history to sell more than a million copies in opening week for three albums.  Over Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, Taylor was highest paid celebrity at fifty seven million dollars. A year later Taylor funded four million dollars to people in need. This money went towards classrooms, learning labs, and many more.
Sooner than later, Taylor decided to move away from the country aspect of music. She released an album called 1998 and had many hits. “Shake it off” was proven to be the catchiest song.  “Bad Blood” was video of the year and was released at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.  Taylor’s album 1998 sold over five million copies in the United States alone.  In February 2016 Taylor opened the 58th Grammy Award with a track off of the album 1998, “Out of the Woods.”  “Out of the Woods” got awards for Best Music Video.
Over all, Taylor has been a very successful young woman. She has always had a positive outlook on life and persevere through any bump in the road. “Life isn’t about how to survive the storm. It’s about how to dance in the rain.” -Taylor Swift. Taylor takes every chance she can and either learned from them or face the consequences.

Bill Gates

Bill Gates
Bill was born in Seattle in 1955. He started to get into computers at the age of 13, and that lead to him and his partner Paul Allen making the biggest software company of its time. Now Bill is the richest man in the world with his wealth sitting right over a couple trillion dollars. Bill stepped down from CEO in 2014 and made his own place higher than CEO just for himself.
William Henry Gates the third or Bill went to lakeside school in Seattle. He didn't start to go after his dream until college when he started to take those classes. He was right on time with really bad tech at the time so when bill came he had it real easy at the start, and his business tactics plowed through the competition.
Bill was in a middle class family to the richest man in the world. He grew up with two sisters Kristianne who was older and libby who was younger, and his parents William and Mary Gates. Their house was very close and all of the kids were very competitive and wanted the best. Most of the time they would try to win the family games and board games, risk was Bill's favorite but he was the best at Monopoly.
Bill was very close to his mom who was a teacher at the time and then just stayed at home with the kids. His dad was a law student at this time. Bill and his mom would volunteer for pretty much anything that was going on and they both loved it. Bill was a very big reader as a kids spending many hours on books like encyclopedia. At 11 or 12 Bill parents started to worry about him he was doing well in school but he was bored all the time and he had only a couple of friends and he didn't want to do anything and his parents thought he was going to become a loner.
At 13 Bill enrolled into excel programs and blossomed in all of his classes. While at school a computer company provided computer time for the kids. The mothers club started sales to make a terminal for the school, and Bill spent all of his free time working on the terminal. Bill made a program that made the computer play tic tac toe with the kids. At lakeside Bill met Paul Allen and they became fast friend because of their love of computers, even know they were so different. But they were always in the computer room together. They would fight all the time and one time it got them kick out of the computer lab. When they got back into the lab the boys hacked the school scheduling program and made the bells ring at random times.
At 15 Bill and his friend went into business. They made Traf O Data a computer program that monitored all of the street lights, and made 20000 dollars off of what they did. Then wanted their own company but his parents wanted him to stay in school and then go to college to become a lawyer. Bill graduated in 1973. He scored 1550 out of 1600 on the college SAT test  and for several years he boasted about his test.
Bill enrolled at harvard in the fall. But  he spend more time in the lab then in class and would rarely get more than a couple hours of sleep and he would always cram for a test and he would just be on the border of pass and fail the whole time he was  at school which was only two years because he dropped out and moved to boston to work for honeywell.Around this time Allen showed Gates an edition of Popular Electronics magazine an article on the Altair 8800 mini-computer kit. Bo th of the boy were just imagineing  all of the stuff they could do with this new technology. When Bill saw this he wanted get his hands on one of these so he went to new Mexico to made all new program for the computer. But the computer had very bad system to run on so Bill got to work he ask the CEO and he ask him to show his idea. Now Bill was right on the he was on it for two months before Bill had made his first operating system.ill formed a partnership and made his own company called microsoft.
They started very rough making only basic software for their computers. When the software was done they started to dell the computers with bills software but the people started to remake the computer with bills software then gave them away for free this was tribble for bill because only 10%  had really paid for Bills software. In February 1976, Gates wrote an open letter to computer hobbyists, saying that continued distribution and use of software without paying for it would
"prevent good software from being written."
Bill saw the sharing from friend to friend as stealing and that it would make developer stop putting time and money to the software. The letter was very unpopular but Bill stuck to it. Bill and his MITS fought  all the time most of the time full on yelling his MITS wanted to develop for the computer again but bill was nowhere near giving up his spot in development.
As Bill company got bigger and bigger he became the spokesman for the company. In November 1980, IBM was looking for software that would operate their upcoming personal computer (PC) and approached Microsoft. Legend has it that at the first meeting with Bill Gates someone at IBM mistook him for an office assistant and asked him to serve coffee.  Than Bill had made his own company followed his dream and succeeded and is still going to day.

The Natural Born Killer

“The Natural Born Killer”
Carlos Condit was born April 26, 1984 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was training to become a mixed martial artist since he was a young child. He also enjoyed Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, and boxing. Carlos Condit is the “Natural Born Killer.” He is an american UFC fighter in the welterweight division. Before he was a UFC fighter he was in a now UFC owned company known as the World Extreme Cagefighting(WEC). He was the last reigning, defending, welterweight champion of the world before the UFC bought it and took it over. While in the WEC he fought people like Frank Trigg, Dan Hardy, Jake Ellenberger, Brock Larson, Rory MacDonald, and Dong Hyun Kim. Multiple UFC websites named him the sixth best welterweight in the world. In his beginning years of the WEC Carlos Condit had a 5:0 record/undefeated streak. Because Carlos Condit was such a good fighter he was set to face George St. Pierre in the UFC for the welterweight championship. Not to long before the set date for the fight Pierre had suffered an injury forcing the match to not take place. Carlos was offered other fights but refused them all in order to wait for Pierre and have his title shot.
Carlos Condit has an arsenal of moves as does every sport fighter. These are Carlos Condit’s signature move set. First, his rear naked choke. This is his best and most feared submission. First off a rear naked choke is performed by wrapping your legs around the opponent so they cannot escape, and by placing either your forearm or inner elbow across the throat or jugular artery causing the opposer to either “Tap out or pass out”. Another move that he throws is the flying knee. To perform the flying knee all you do is simply run, jump, and hit them in the face with your knee; but what makes it so special for him is that he doesn’t always jump so high and that midway through he will grab your head and bring it towards his knee so it could extremely damage your body or getcha’ right in the jaw instead of the face or forehead. The way he would almost always land the knee is that he would throw some *fear punches* and some front kicks so they would step back or get their back up against the cage. Then Carlos would throw the flying knee.
Another signature move is actually more of a style/technique. He uses a Muay Thai fighting style while also being extremely aggressive towards the opponent. Muay Thai moves include the Muay Thai clinch, a vast majority of kicks to his use, increased body control, and well-timed and extremely powerful strikes. Carlos is not to crazy though, he likes to also keep space and not get *rocked*. Condit usually goes for the body but also likes to mix it up and go for the legs and combos to the head. He also conserves a lot of his energy throughout the fight so when he sees that his opponent is tiring he will swarm you with 110% of kicks, knees, and punches not stopping until the referee stops him, or until he runs out of that energy, but it usually goes to him getting pulled off by the ref and his hand raised by knockout.
The way he uses leg kicks is that when he notices that his opponent is starting to feel comfortable or  is getting in the rhythm of when said opponent is to strike Carlos. He stops that rhythm dead in it’s tracks by throwing a light leg kick to knock them off balance or a strong as a kick he can throw to almost immobilize his opponent. The way Condit outsmarts his opponents is the best in my opinion because he will start the combo with a front kick and if the opponent steps back Condit will come forward at him with a flurry of light punches or a couple full-force punches to rock them and throw the flying knee. If the opponent steps forward for a counter hit Carlos will counter that counter, step back, and return back to his original stance and keep fighting.  Another thing about his knees is that he loves to get in the Muay Thai clinch and throwing his knees into his opponents face.
Carlos Condit has almost a perfect clinch and stand-up game. His only flaw is that he cannot be on his back. Offensively he will almost never think of “shooting the gap” or going for the takedown. The only thing he will try and look for is a trip in the clinch if he feels confident enough to end the fight there. The reason that he can’t be on his back is that he can’t get out. If someone gets him in half guard he is done. Even though Condit doesn’t usually go for takedowns, he will usually try to reverse the takedown. Such as if the opponent shoots for a single leg takedown he will almost always use the kimura arm lock and flip on top of you for a vicious ground and pound.

Some fun facts are that he is a black belt in Gaidojutsu and knows how to apply submissions. One thing about that is he has yet to finish a fight via submission in his career. The only thing Carlos can do on his back is that he will keep the tightest guard he can and then when he sees an opening or some type of tiring he will hit you with all the elbows he can throw at you. A lot of fighters who know about Condit’s guard is that they will usually get off of the ground with him. One move that Carlos Condit rarely does on his back is that he will go to a butterfly guard. He barely uses it ever bet is very good at this position. The most ways he wins and is most successful with is that he the “Natural Born Killer” should just always be on the offensive and and throw as much flurries as he can while maintaining that energy. Not many people will be able to withstand the cardio and combos that Condit throws for five-five minute rounds. Carlos Condit has been on a “break” still waiting for George St. Pierre(a.k.a GSP) to be ready and cleared to fight and when that time comes he will be back in the UFC. Carlos Condit is the Natural Born Killer.

Monty Oum

Monty Oum
Monty Oum was born on June 22, 1981. He was the youngest member of a Rhode Island family. He had four older brothers and two older sisters. Monty dropped out of high school and self taught himself how to animate. He started to make fan animations including characters from video games with a similar animated format.
In 2007, Monty Oum discovered some new techniques for animation. He found models of characters from Halo 2 and Metroid. He made an animation of them fighting. He called it Haloid: The Ultimate Showdown. Monty made similar mashup videos with characters fighting.
A few months after Haloid was released, Monty was hired by Midway Games to be a Combat Designer. A year later, he was hired by Namco Bandai Games to be a Combat Designer. He also animated Afro Samurai. In 2009, everything changed for Monty. He met the co-founder of Rooster Teeth, Burnie Burns.
He met Burns at a panel at the San Diego International Comic Con. The pair talked about Monty possibly working for Rooster Teeth.  It wasn’t until 2010 when Rooster Teeth announced that Monty would be an animated on their long-running webseries, Red vs. Blue. Monty made major changes to the show.
Red vs. Blue had a military science fiction setting. It didn’t have heavy combat; it focused on humor and storytelling. With Monty, that completely changed. Monty incorporated the elaborate and fast paced fighting of his fan videos. This continued until the completion of season 10 of Red vs. Blue in 2012.
Before the completion of Red vs. Blue, Monty Oum pitched an idea for his own series to Burnie Burns. After Red vs. Blue was finished, Monty was given his opportunity for his series. It was made public at a convention that the new series would be called RWBY, and Monty would be the leader animator and overall creative-director of the project. Unlike his other work, RWBY was made from original models and didn’t have themes from an already existing game franchise, but RWBY did have the fantastical combat between super-powered characters.
Monty Oum also created its own storylines which was based on Folklore and fairytales from western and eastern cultures. To create buzz, Monty made four trailers, one for each protagonist. The trailers showed off each character’s design and weapons. It also showcased the kind of combat expected from Oum. RWBY was a success with appraisal from fans and critics alike. Monty started receiving great recognition for RWBY.
RWBY’s success mostly came from Monty Oum’s incredible style of animation. He was noted for his character design and his fast paced combat. Monty claimed that he formed this style from classic action movies, martial arts films, and video game combat as well as many other animated works influenced him. RWBY has normal body proportions but usually features exaggerated body features for visual humor or comic effect, commonly found in anime.
RWBY wasn’t just an action series, it also had dramatic and relatable themes making it a coming of age story. Some of these themes were family deaths, obsessive determination, and unrequited love. Since the four protagonists were female, the show had a young female demographic, but the show had plenty of male fans. In short, RWBY wasn’t just liked for its awesome action, it was also liked because it was relatable. Most had been in the protagonist’s shoes before.
RWBY produced another season with less episodes but each episode was lengthened. A video game adaptation was even being made. As season 3 was in production, tragedy struck. On January 22, 2015, Monty Oum was hospitalized due to a severe allergic reaction during a routine medical procedure. He was rendered comatose.
He was in critical condition and it was not clear if he would recover. A donation page for his medical expenses was made, and it raised $50,000 dollars in only  three hours. The page continued to receive donated money. It was incredible how many people rallied to their friend’s and hero’s side. Even with all the donated money, Monty Oum died February 1st due to the allergic reaction.
Millions were devastated. They had lost an idol, a friend, a brother, a son, a husband. Many other YouTube based companies paid homage to Monty. They made videos following his format and made podcasts in his name. The fate of his masterpiece, RWBY, was a major concern to fans. Luckily, Monty had shared his vision and ideas for RWBY with the other creative staff.

Rooster Teeth produced a third season, hailed to the be the best one yet. Rooster Teeth has no doubt that it was how Monty wanted it. Monty’s brother, Neath Oum, started voicing Lie Ren, a character Monty voiced. Monty Oum had inspired so many people in his seemingly short years. I was one of those people. I am certain he will never fade. He will never be forgotten.
